Caring for your Xero Shoes

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting your Xeros in the washing machine or dryer.

What’s different between the Men’s and Women’s DayLite Hiker?

We use “men’s” and “women’s” as a matter of convention. We know there are some men who will fit better in the “women’s” shoe, and vice versa.

The “men’s” style is a bit wider across the toes and in the heel. The women’s, conversely, has a narrower heel and slightly less-wide toe box.

If you’re a man with a very thin foot, or a women with a wide foot, you may want to try the “other” style.

Is the DayLite Hiker Waterproof?

It’s not waterproof because the tongue is independent of the rest of the upper, though the ballistic mesh material in the upper definitely makes this boot a little more rain-friendly than most other footwear. If you really want to keep the water at bay, check out our Xcursion — Xero’s first fully waterproof boot.

Very slippery when wet

The shoes are overall good but with a very big disadvantage. On wet surfaces the sole is extremely slippery. That doesn't make any sense even for a casual shoe. When we talk about such a big brand and an expensive hiking shoe, I don't know how to explain that malfunction.

Slippery, dangerous and not waterproof!

The sole of these shoes is very slippery on wet surfaces! It's the same problem as with the Scrambler Mid II model. The risk of slipping and potentially fatal falls is very high in the mountains, especially on wet stones! That makes no sense for hiking boots! Furthermore, these shoes are not waterproof! All you have to do is walk on wet grass and your feet are soaking wet. That makes no sense for hiking boots, because they are made for being out in nature. Outdoors can often be wet. These shoes are unsuitable for hiking! I wouldn't buy them again. One Star for the comfort.

These are great, I used them on multi-day hike. great feel of the ground, a little sliperry on dusty downhill trail (surprisingly good grip on wet rock) I have small complaints for longevity. 1 - the glue didn't hold after a year, on the heel. 2 - eventually the cushioned sole use for the strobel stitch collapsed and it's sad I can't change it. 3 - the shoelace wasn't durable
