Like Wearing Mountain Bike Tires On Your Feet

Scrambler Mid II WP is a collaboration with Michelin, the car and bike tire company.

The thin Michelin fiberlite technology in the sole gives unparalleled strength, flexibility, and lightness. Plus, with mud-shedding lugs inspired by Michelin’s high-performance mountain bike tires, you feel the confidence that comes with incredible grip.

Extra Protection With An "Illusion"

The Scrambler Mid II WP may appear to have a thick sole, leading you to assume that Xero Shoes has sold out.

Far from it. While the boot has a thin layer of our TrailFoam™ to provide extra comfort and protection on rough trails, the thick sole is an illusion created by our design team to make this look like a conventional hiking boot. You get the lightweight flexibility you’ve come to expect from Xero Shoes. Averaging just 346 g per boot for a men’s 42, a pair of the Scrambler Mid II WP weighs less than just one single boot from most other companies.

Like all our shoes, the Scrambler Mid II WP is made to give you season after season of outdoor fun and is covered by our 5,000-mile sole warranty.

Total awesomeness.

The best shoes ever. No blisters, no pain, no weight. Only comfort and grip. The boots you can trust. With superb design. Bought 5 pairs already. And will but more.

Looks good but...

They look really fine and indeed totally waterproof. My only issue is that the sole is not large enough. I took 47 instead of 46 and I think 48 will be better for the width but too long to be able to walk not as a clown. So good shoes but not width enough if you are on the barefoot trend since a while...

No good

Went hiking with these shoes and they started causing me problems pretty much immediately, the "michellan tire" grips did not provide much better grip then even a regular pair of running shoes and I often found myself sliding on mild inclines, also one of the clips for holding the laces popped off the first time I used them and the shoe has already started to come apart at the toe despite only having used it a couple of times so overall poor build quality and poor comfort.

too narrow

I'm only giving 2 stars because they are actually light and well made. I'm exclusively wearing barefoot shoes for the last 2 years and was looking for a shoe that would give me some protection going through dense foliage. Scramblers would be great if they weren't so narrow. After just few steps I felt the base of the big toe rubbing agains the shoe. I thought that it could possibly be fixed with proper socks and I was right. The problem is that was the tip of the iceberg. I planned and easy walk with lightly packed daypack to try the shoes out. After just 2km I started feeling discomfort. I started feeling pressure on the outer part of the foot. After 3km discomfort turned into pain. After 5km inner heel joined the party. I soon decided to cut the walk short. And only done 7km. At the moment I don't see any use for those shoes and I wiil be selling them most likely.

Outersole waers out quick

These boots are great—100% waterproof and very comfortable, as expected from Xero shoes. However, they run a bit small in size. The outsole, unfortunately, is disappointing. After just 250 km of combined off-road and on-road use, some of the tread lugs are already worn down. At this rate, the sole and boots might be unusable after another 300 km. What happened to the 7,000 km guarantee? The Michelin rubber and tread seems like a poor choice for footwear. While it might work well for bicycle tires, it’s unsuitable for shoes. It’s also very slippery on wet surfaces. I much prefer the previous Xero outsole—it had better grip and lasted over 4,000 km.
